cardiovascular health, liver function, reproduction
and fetal development, and physical and athletic
performance.
Concentrated fish oil contains high levels of
important Omega 3 oils, which are documented to
improve brain development and memory function from
conception through old age. Omega 3 oils also
provide a variety of additional benefits for
maintaining healthy hearts and bodies.
The two most studied fish oil fatty acids are the 20 carbon
eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and the 22-carbon docosahexaenoic
acid (DHA). Following ingestion, EPA and DHA are transported by
the circulatory system to the tissues of the body where they
are used primarily for the synthesis of phospholipids. These phopholipids in turn are incorporated into the cell membranes of
blood platelets, blood cells and central nervous system cells,
as well as many others. DHA, in particular, is a vital component
of the phospholipids which make up the cellular membranes of the
brain and retina.
Omega-3 fatty acids, unlike the omega-3 fatty acid found in
flaxseed oil and other vegetable oils, help to keep blood
triglycerides in check and may protect against atherosclerosis.
Ginkgo Biloba is native to China.
Extract made from Ginkgo leaves has been used in
medicine for centuries in Europe, particularly in
France and Germany. The main active ingredients
of Ginkgo Biloba come from the flavonoids Glicozide
and Ginkgolide. They act to improve memory and
other brain functions, as well as peripheral blood
circulation and cellular oxygenation.
Fish roe contains concentrates of marine
triacylglycerols (an important source of Omege 3
oils) and phospholipids (an aid to memory and
cognitive function).
